I love website templates, but they are not for everyone. If you have a really niche business, a membership, or a unique service, or if you are looking for a design that is 100% your own then a custom-built website is probably for you. Custom builds are also great for business owners who do not want to have to do a lot of physical work on their website (me and a copywriter will take care of most things). This hands-off custom experience comes at a higher investment.

For those DIYer business owners who are not looking to spend much money on a website, a website template is for you. Once you purchase a website template you can upload it and hit the ground running.
